Parker Skin Care can improve the appearance of vascular and non-vascular cutaneous imperfections thanks to the Thermocoagulation (Electrocautery) treatment.
Thermocoagulation will free you of unsightly and unpleasant skin abnormalities such as ruby points, broken capillaries, skin tags, milia, Angiokeratomas, hyperpigmentation and keratosis. Although there is some mild discomfort, most clients find the sensation quite gentle and say they feel slight heat. Thermocoagulation is a safe and efficient treatment for removing skin abnormalities. Treatments with thermocoagulation are safe and non-invasive.
The procedure involves inserting a fine probe into the imperfection or abnormality, releasing a small amount of current to dry up the imperfection. A scab will form depending on the size of the imperfection treated and the intensity used. A scab is your body's natural Band-Aid. The scab will fall off once the skin beneath is healed enough to be exposed to the elements.
What areas can be treated?
Broken capillaries are tiny dilated blood vessels that are visible through the skin. They become more common as we age and our skin loses its elasticity. The factors that can promote their formation are: excessive exposure to the sun, drastic change in temperature, alcoholic beverages, hot and spicy foods. Once they form, broken capillaries will not disappear on their own. But, they can be permanently removed by inserting a probe into the skin and coagulating a small segment of the capillary.

Cherry angiomas, ruby points or Campbell spots are the most common vascular lesions. They appear as highly concentrated dilated capillaries that can be flat or slightly raised, and their colour varies from cherry red to purplish. While small cherry angiomas can usually be removed with a single treatment, larger or deeper-coloured ones may require a few sessions. However, after one treatment, even if a follow-up is necessary, you will still notice a significant improvement as the red spot will lighten to a pinkish color.
The technician will insert a probe into the anomaly while releasing the current. Smaller anomalies will dry up and disappear. A larger blemish will result in a scab until the skin heals. The procedure is quite quick and many spots can be treated during one session.

Milia are tiny white bumps on the skin. Milia look like whiteheads and are often found around the eyes and nose. They are keratin filled cysts, which feel like a grain of sand under your skin. They don’t have an opening at the surface so they can’t be extracted like whiteheads.
Milia are easily removed by thermocoagulation. The technician will insert a probe with current into the milia to soften the debris and then use a lancet to break the skin and extract the milia.

Pigmented spots (also known as age spots or liver spots) are flat brown or black spots. They appear on sun-exposed areas of the body, such as the face, shoulders, back, and back of the hands.
The technician gently scrapes off the pigmented spot using a fine probe and current. The sensation will vary depending on the area. The back of hands where the skin is thin will be more sensitive than other body areas. A scab will form and new lighter skin appears once healed.

A skin tag is a small piece of soft skin that hangs from the body and may be attached to a stalk. They can appear on any part of the body but are more commonly found where skin rubs against skin or clothing. Skin tags are benign and noncancerous tumors that consist of fibers, ducts, nerve cells, fat cells, and an epidermis covering. They often go unnoticed, except when they are in a prominent location or are constantly rubbed or scratched by clothing, jewelry, or when shaving.
A skin tag can be removed permanently in one treatment. If the skin tags are small, many can be removed successfully during one treatment session. If the tags are very large only a few may be treated per session.

Angiokeratomas are colourless mole-like skin anomalies with the presence of capillaries.
The technician will insert a probe while releasing a steady stream of current to coagulate the angiokeratoma. The anomaly will dry up, resulting in a whitish scab that will darken in colour in a few days. Depending on the size of anomalies, many can be treated in one treatment session. Some angiokeratomas may take repeated treatments to completely disappear.

Keratosis are growths that commonly occur in adults over the age of thirty. Specifically, seborrheic or senile keratosis can appear on almost any body part. These growths can be waxy or wart-like and come in various colours, from light to dark, flat or raised. Although they are generally harmless, a doctor must evaluate your keratosis, as it can be mistaken for skin cancer. It is essential to seek medical attention if the keratosis bleeds, itches, or becomes irritated or inflamed regularly.
The technician will remove the keratosis by lifting it off with a probe and current, followed by a safe and non-invasive cauterization of the surface to seal the skin. Some may regrow after removal, but most do not.
