Micropigmentation, commonly known as permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the application of pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. This technique is used to enhance facial features, simulate the appearance of makeup, or address certain cosmetic concerns. Micropigmentation is a form of tattooing, but it uses specialized equipment and pigments designed for cosmetic purposes.

There is typically a short recovery period after micropigmentation, during which the treated area may appear slightly darker or more intense. As the skin heals, the colour settles to achieve the desired result.
